Position: Assistant Professor of Instruction, Musical Theatre.

The College of Design, Art & Performance offers a wide array of classes ranging from arts electives available to the entire USF student population to highly specialized courses for majors in each of our disciplines, as well as a doctoral level program in music education. College of Design, Art & Performance is also ambitious in its size and scope, with four separate schools, nearly a dozen different degree programs, two concert halls, three theatres, a professional museum, a student art gallery, a digital media lab, a new Music Building, and Graphicstudio-which is renowned throughout the nation and the world.

The College is an integral engine for socioeconomic progress through research, advocacy, and engagement. Our interdisciplinary ecosystem facilitates, prepares, and educates our students and faculty to become creative leaders in a global society as we engage and collaborate to create lasting positive impact.

Duties : Teaching responsibilities will include four (4) assignments per semester. These may be comprised of a combination of courses and mainstage production assignments. Typical service responsibilities include recruiting, mentoring and advising students, work on School, College, and/or University committees, professional memberships, and curricular development.

The successful candidate will direct musical performances and teach all levels in the performance curriculum (acting and directing). They will serve as the area head of Musical Theatre, enhancing the existing curriculum and helping recruit students for the major.

Minimum Qualifications

• MFA or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant professional Musical Theatre performance or directing experience.
• Experience teaching performance at the university level or comparable teaching experience.

• Experience teaching musical theatre performance classes and directing undergraduate productions.
• Program administration and recruitment experience
