Our Client in Detroit is seeking a Senior Commercial Lender that will drive the growth and success of the bank's loan portfolio, focusing on commercial real estate lending, small business lending, and commercial and industrial lending. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver superior financial products, assess credit risks, and ensure full regulatory compliance. Additionally, you'll strengthen community ties by building relationships and fostering partnerships to create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the bank's lending portfolio, providing guidance on credit policies and procedures to maintain quality and compliance.
Evaluate and approve/decline complex and high-value loan requests prior to their submission to the Loan Committee.
Manage credit administration to ensure loan portfolio profitability and sustainable growth.
Monitor and enhance the safety and soundness of the bank's lending practices.
Set growth goals for loan volume and guide lenders in achieving these objectives.
Analyze and present credit data on loan quality trends, growth metrics, and product concentrations.
Prepare and present loan information for Board of Directors' review and approval.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience required.
Extensive experience in commercial credit, commercial real estate lending, small business lending, and commercial and industrial lending.
Preferred experience with community development programs, including affordable housing and tax credit initiatives.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in credit administration management.
Exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect across all organizational levels.
Hybrid schedule (onsite and remote).
