How you will make an impact:
The Senior Manager, Operations Finance will have direct responsibility for supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts of the Instrument and Enterprise Services Division (IES) within the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG). This role will be actively involved in strategy, reporting, and analytical processes for key business metrics in Efficiency, Logistics, and Inventory, and will have a great deal of visibility with senior leadership. They will also develop solid cross-functional business partnerships, driving financial results for IES, leading special projects, improving processes, and implementing business intelligence tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes to include month-end close, reporting, planning/forecasting and analytics activities
Identify, monitor, and articulate key operating metrics, and synthesize messaging the business performance
Own the annual operating plan process (AOP) as well as play a key role in the annual strategic financial planning process
Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans
Understands and deploys the best tools / methods to effectively communicate sophisticated data and topics
Perform analysis linking operational activities with their financial impact, and suggest to management ideas on related, practical improvements.
Develops high quality effective presentations (i.e. engaging, motivating, concise, well-prep)
Identify, communicate, and lead risk & opportunities
Build and develop a successful team, currently consisting of 2 other individuals
Champion other ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned or as self-identified areas for improvement.
Requirements/Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5-7+ years of business and Finance experience
Skilled in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). Understanding of SQL/ query languages, VBA/ scripting languages and Data Visualization software/PowerBI/Tableau
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back, analyze the business impact and synthesize the messaging
Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization
Proficient at understanding and proactively presenting the implications of business decisions and dynamics
Strong interpersonal, analytical skills, able to balance priorities and workflow.
Must have an outstanding attention to detail and strong process rigor.
