PEOPLE AND CULTURE COORDINATOR
Based on-site at Rocket Lab's Long Beach, CA Facility, the People and Culture Coordinator will provide comprehensive support in various human resources functions including general employee support, event planning/scheduling, administrative duties within HRIS and other systems, people data management, calendar management, onboarding support, mail management, personnel file management including confidential information, and other HR and administrative tasks as needed. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and service-oriented operation of the People & Culture department initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
Assist with new hire orientation, to include: backup for the new hire orientation, including presentations.
Prepare and maintain electronic personnel files and prepare termination paperwork.
Complete new hire onboarding in the HRIS system and verify data on payroll system.
Maintain active and terminated employee data in all systems.
Assist with planning employee events and attend such events for support as needed.
Provide administrative support to employees.
Assist with offboarding processes and intake/documentation of employee relations matters.
Assists with any required preparation for annual performance review, merit and benefits open enrollment cycles.
Completes and verifies I-9 documentation as needed and maintains I-9 files.
Manages calendars and assists with scheduling meetings for P&C department as needed.
Take notes and minutes in meetings when required.
Assists with employee engagement programs, awards, and gifts, as requested.
Track required employee training competition on L&D platform and follow up with employees and managers who require completion.
Maintain inventory of all Company swag for new hires and special events.
Retrieve mail; manage incoming/outgoing mail; and process invoices as needed.
Other administrative duties and general support on projects, as assigned.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED
5+ years of related experience in a human resources or office administrator role
Computer experience with programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
Bachelor's Degree
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the Company's HRIS and payroll systems
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
Ability to occasionally work outside and/or travel to company events for P&C related purposes.
Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
