What You'll Do


  • As a data science leader, you'll help define and deliver a variety of projects for clients that leverage a variety of techniques across multiple technologies and industries.

  • Facilitate discussions with clients on data science opportunities and guide them in understanding the value of analytical data and how to get started with data science initiatives.

  • Scope and solution AI solutions to during pre-sales phases

  • Build partnerships internal and external partners to support sales processes and team development.

  • Provide inputs to our team in charge of shaping the Data Science go-to-market strategy

  • Lead project teams of a few consultants during delivery of Data Science, AI and genAI solutions to our clients

  • Serve as AI project architect to co-design analytics solutions with and for our clients

  • Directly contribute to implementation of AI solutions such as AI training/evaluation pipelines in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake or Azure or defining data science capabilities for our clients (strategic roadmaps, initiatives, platform selection...)

  • Operate Agile delivery processes to manage and prioritize scope during delivery

  • Act as permanent people leader for a few team members from our Data Science capability: help them develop their mastery of the latest developments in the field of AI, mentor them and help them grow their career

  • Ops: Co-own and co-lead internal operations such as staffing, maintaining our active AI enablement program or building a vibrant community of AI practitioners




What You'll Bring

  • Ideally, a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a quantitative field and 10+ years of experience designing and building feature engineering pipelines and data science or artificial intelligence or generative AI training / inference pipelines.

  • Knowledge of AI modeling theory and practice to provide optimal solutions to clients

  • Experience with cloud and modern data science platforms such as AWS/Sagemaker/Bedrock, GCP/VertexAI/Gemini, Azure/AIStudio or OpenAI.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with libraries/frameworks such, pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. Big data experience (ex: Hadoop / Apache Spark) is a nice plus.

  • Ideally: Advanced experience designing and implementing GenAI system architectures, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) or genAI Agents.

  • Nice to have: Proficiency with data visualization and BI toolslike Tableau, PowerBI, Looker

  • Experience leading and inspiring high-performance analytics project delivery teams using Agile processes, Software Delivery Life Cycle stages and delivery operations best practices and tools (ex: Agile backlog/boards, git repositories).

  • Executive-level communication skills to engage with senior business stakeholders to present findings and drive decision making

  • Pre-sales experience in a technical role with a focus on AI project scoping, solutioning, sizing and planning

  • Experience acting as people leader and coaching team members to help them grow their careers

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Senior Consultant level, the base salary pay range is 131,000 - 185,000, and the targeted base salary range is 131,000 - 170,000. For the Principal level, the base salary pay range is 145,000 - 204,000, and the targeted base salary range is 145,000 - 184,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
