Job Title:RadOnc Technical Support Tier 1 West CampusDepartment:James | Radiation Oncology


Scope of Popsition


RadOnc Technical Support Tier 1 is responsible for providing tier 1 IT technical support for employees, faculty, office assistant staff, students, researchers, therapists, physicists, dosimetrist, nursing, physician, and administrators within the Radiation Oncology department. Position leads in identifying, troubleshooting, and providing outstanding customer support at an advanced technical level for issues with computing systems, printers, peripherals, operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux), and deployments. Partners with tier 2 and 3 technical support engineers to resolve complex technical issues requiring escalation. Provides RadOnc specialized hardware and middleware support and administration for Radiation Oncology information system (Aria), network and telephony support, and additional support for messaging, desktop operating systems, directory services and security, and support of other RadOnc specific treatment hardware, medical devices, and applications used by the Radiation Oncology. Meets all compliance and reporting requirements for the University, Medical Center, and Cancer Center; adheres to the strict security standards and policies set by the University; assists in ensuring audit and inventory compliance for Radiation Oncology; thoroughly creates documentation for processes and procedures utilized by the department end users.




Education, Experience, and Physical Requirements

College degree in Computer Sciences, or related field and 3 yrs. experience as a support technician, or equivalent combination of education & experience required; must have fundamental knowledge with respect to various desktop hardware/software, networks, telephony, paging, messaging, telepresence, and printing environments. Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the current Microsoft desktop OS, Office products, and "wintel" hardware environments. Certification as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Network+ preferred.



Requires successful completion of a background check. Ability to pick up and move 50 pounds and walk at least 10K steps a day through multiple facilities a must. Locations for this work include buildings on OSU Main campus, West campus, and other off campus RadOnc facilities and may need to move between areas in any given day. Selected candidate will be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screening.
NOTE: this position is 2nd Shift - 11am -7:30pm hours are not flexible.
