General Description:

This position is responsible for researching, evaluating, and posting transfer credit, and for awarding advanced standing credit for other prior learning experiences.

Minimum Education/Experience:

High School Diploma/GED


Minimum (2) years' work experience.

The work is sedentary work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:


This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff and others to perform the essential functions of the position; must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.


This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.

Work is performed in a relatively safe and secure indoor, office setting.



Work is performed during normal office hours; however, some evenings and weekends may be required during peak periods of enrollment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum (2) years' experience in an institution of higher education in the area of credit transfer evaluation.


Required Training:

Quarterly compliance training as assigned by institution


Work Hours:

Monday through Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm. Some weekend and evening hours may be required during peak periods of enrollment.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):

Use AI enhanced software to upload transcripts to the students record and index to the imaging system in a timely and efficient manner; review accuracy of information to be transferred over to the student record making adjustments as necessary.


Ensure standard course equivalencies are updated; record and maintain equivalencies within the automated degree audit system and updates to the College Source/TES system.


Review and evaluate transfer coursework for credit evaluation to ensure compliance with the College Policies and Procedures as well as the State Regents Policies and Procedures.


Ensure transfer coursework is entered in a timely and efficient manner.


Support a system in determining recommended credit awards for extra-institutional learning experiences including business and industry training, etc.


Assist with updating internal transfer data base as per State Regents updates to the transfer matrix.


Support enrollment process by serving as liaison to registration, faculty, records, financial aid, and student success advisors to resolve transfer credit related issues.


Assist with and support all efforts coordinated within the office of Admissions, Records, and Graduation Services to promote degree completion and graduation.


Assist with the annual commencement ceremony.


Advise the Transfer Evaluation Coordinator on significant matters and support the other members of the office in the achievement of goals and operational purposes.


Develop relationships with other departments for effective and efficient operations.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.


Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.


Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.


Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
