Job Description:


The Department of Health Policy and Management is seeking an individual for a part-time Lecturer position outside the tenure stream to teach HPM-2051, “Healthcare Applications of Operations Research” in the 2025 Spring Term. Candidate must possess a master’s level degree to teach in the MHA and MPH programs and have an understanding of operations research concepts and how to apply those concepts in healthcare settings. The course well help students develop skills in analyzing and improving healthcare systems and processes through the application of health systems engineering and operations research techniques. The course will feature a mix of didactic instruction followed by small group breakouts using primarily healthcare-related examples to apply concepts.

The salary to teach the course will adhere to the terms of the Pitt Faculty Union CBA of $2,500 per credit. HPM-2051 is a 3-credit course.
