Performs functions to maintain building and process operations by supporting and controlling maintenance functions, including technicians, grounds, building and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Investigates & resolves production equipment issues in a timely manner
Responsible for scheduling, interviewing, hiring and training employees in accordance with company policies & applicable laws
Identifies staffing requirements to meet business needs
Supervises outside contracted labor, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.
Reviews production schedule and coordinates with production when equipment is not scheduled for production, directs timely equipment preventive maintenance
Assures proper operation of support assets along with building and grounds
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems of equipment through personal observations, maintenance logs, and operator feedback, and plans for and takes corrective action
Maintains relevant records and ensures USDA, OSHA, and other regulatory agency standards and programs are implemented
Works with inventory control to maintain and organize spare part inventory
Promotes a culture of safety and engages in safety initiatives
Supports the Director of Maintenance's initiative of continuous development of the maintenance team
Serves as back-up to Director of Maintenance
Performs other functions as assigned
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Hires, fires, coaches, counsels, and motivates staff
Responsible for supervising and directing employees, including mechanics and technicians
Oversees administration of timecards and approval of time off requests
Oversees employee participation and adherence to food safety and employee safety programs and policies
Manages staff by orienting and training employees on company rules, safety, and job functions, including new process workflows and designs; as well as identifying high potential individuals for future opportunities
Guides the enforcement of systems, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly
Resolves personnel issues in accordance with company guidelines and policies and participate in union grievance meetings as necessary
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
5-7 years of related work experience and management experience
Willing share a call schedule 24/7
Effective communication and training skills
Understanding of OSHA and general safety guidelines
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and various computer applications
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 80 lbs. occasionally
Able to function at heights of approximately 40 feet
Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
