Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Grants Accountant in Washington, DC.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Grant Accounting and Management:


  • Manage the financial aspects of grants from pre-award to post-award

  • Grants Accountant will ensure compliance with federal regulations, such as the Uniform Guidance, and grantor requirements

  • Perform regular reconciliations of grant accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance

General Ledger and Account Reconciliation:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to grants

  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, in accordance with GAAP

  • Provide detailed financial reports to stakeholders and grantors as required

System and Process Improvement:

  • As a Grants Accountant, you will identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes related to grant accounting

  • Ensure efficient and effective maintenance of sponsored projects

Audit and Compliance:

  • Assist with internal and external audits related to grants

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and standards







REQUIREMENTS:



  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed

  • Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
