We are currently seeking a new or recent graduate (with up to two years of experience) with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering to fill the role of design engineer. With our office located in South Portland, Maine, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of land development, municipal and/or transportation projects in Maine and throughout New England. You must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently.
Pay: $67,000 - 80,000
ENTRY LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for performing design tasks, engineering analysis, research, documentation of solutions with recommendations and development of construction documents.
Develop design and perform engineering calculations.
Conduct site visits/inspections, as needed.
Develop project quantities.
Prepare construction cost estimates.
Assist and collaborate with team members (project engineers, project managers, CAD technicians) as needed for the successful completion of design assignments
Bachelor's in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
0-2 years of experience.
Qualifications:
Good written and verbal communication skills
Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred.
Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or Micro Station) preferred.
