Location: Reno, Nevada
Basic Purpose
Ensures safe, efficient, effective, and courteous service to customers who depend on a reliable supply of electricity. Establishes substation construction and maintenance philosophy, and procedures for department electricians, inspectors, administrators, trainers, and technicians. Participates in the design engineering and project management activities associated with substation construction and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering or an applicable field and 5 years of experience in substation construction or related field.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 9 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in electric substation construction, maintenance and standards as well as OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of electric principles. Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution, and labor management experience/skills.
Equipment and Applications
Microsoft Office, spreadsheet and database Software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment with some field work for supervision.
Annual Salary: $133,000 (Min) to $156,500 (Mid); Up to 20% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
