We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer 3 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a temporary, virtual position located in our Boston, MA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will:
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
Work with and support technical leads on all aspects of the project to address client goals and objectives.
Perform geotechnical engineering calculations and analyses.
Perform geotechnical report writing.
Perform seismic site response analyses.
Perform CPT/SPT based liquefaction impact analysis of sites.
Conduct probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard evaluation.
Perform Finite element based seismic soil structure interaction modeling.
Perform traditional geotechnical calculations and analyses such as deep and shallow foundation capacity calculations, slope stability, and lateral earth pressures.
Demonstrate very strong verbal communications and written skills including client deliverables.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering required.
PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Earthquake Engineering preferred.
Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer or be able to obtain a P.E. license within a year.
Experience in performing 1-D seismic site response analyses.
Experience with traditional geotechnical calculations and analyses such as deep and shallow foundation capacity calculations, slope stability, and lateral earth pressures.
Experience with conducting probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard evaluation (preferred).
Experience with finite element based seismic soil structure interaction modeling (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to manage work on time and within budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software.
Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail is expected.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must.
