Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will be responsible for the local implementation and delivery of the National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) lead signature programs to patients and those at risk for kidney disease. He/she will lead the pursuit of new opportunities, manage and cultivate relationships, and drive involvement of accounts to achieve NKF’s mission and income efforts.
The Program Director collaborates with nephrology groups, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to increase market penetration, and engagement of their organizations. Ensures goal achievement through the effective leadership and management of diverse staff, and the engagement and mobilization of volunteers. Responsible for overseeing the relationship management of targeted hospital systems, institutions, and community partners and other key systems for the western Pennsylvania and West Virginia markets.
The Program Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Community Outreach Coordinator to successfully implement and achieve program goals. NKF programs include, but are not limited to: CKDinform, continuing medical education on kidney disease for primary care providers; The Big Ask/The Big Give, living donor advocate program; World Kidney Day/National Kidney Month, kidney health awareness campaign; KEEP Healthy, free public health screening program; Your Kidneys and You, public health education; Current and new National and Regional programs.
The Program Director will also work in collaboration with development staff on the incorporation of program information into sponsorship materials and ensure mission is being communicated effectively throughout NKF’s local fundraising eve

Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism. Maintains effectiveness under pressure. Verbal and written communication skills will be used on a daily basis. Competency in use of a multiple-line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift and transport event supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and requires weekend/evening work and business trips annually. Business travel throughout the region is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
