Dawson Construction LLC has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Estimator Manager, a Senior PM, or APM, working on projects based in Bellingham, WA, which has been recognized as a top ten community in the nation.

Position Description

Position Summary

Plans, directs and manages several commercial construction projects at a time. The Civil Project Estimator Manager is a take-charge leader who has a strong customer focus, a sense of urgency, a concern and respect for safety, and the desire to achieve quality in the final product.

  • Accountable for client project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning focused on achieving high quality, site safety, and aggressive schedules
  • Facilitates building a collaborative team on each project – ability to work with a diverse group of trade contractors to build and lead a cohesive team that can successfully execute a project by meeting, or ultimately exceeding, schedule, budget and quality
  • Communicates effectively with clients, architects, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
  • Builds, meets and drives project schedules by incorporating industry leading techniques such as Lean Construction
  • Forecasts project cost and profitability
  • Reviews drawings and submittals
  • Ensures the correct materials are delivered to the project
  • Estimates, plans and schedules construction projects
  • Documents, negotiates and processes change orders
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and two to three years of field experience
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions and procedure manuals, plans and specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation - $100,000 - $120,000
  • Annual Bonus; depends upon individual and company performance
  • Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO ,401k plan, Paid Holidays, and additional voluntary benefits.
