Overview

The Program Manager will work with students interested in careers devoted to creating positive social change to better prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. The Program Manager's primary responsibility will be to develop programs that provide future changemakers with tangible experience to leverage as they enter the job market. Another key responsibility will be to offer career coaching to students interested in social impact, helping provide exposure to job opportunities and guidance on structuring sustainable careers. Helping foster interdisciplinary collaboration among students and their peers will be a key strategic objective of the role. Building students’ capacity to adapt and respond to change, incorporate and respect diversity, and solve problems thoughtfully and creatively will be important in achieving that objective. This position will embody a partnership between the Wasserman Center for Career Development and the School of Arts and Science, Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, Silver School of Social Work, and the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to amplify career resources for changemakers and position NYU as a leader in career development for students to make social impact.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in academic administration, nonprofit management, community engagement, social entrepreneurship, and/or social impact, or preferably an equivalent combination. Experience working and communicating with a variety of stakeholders is essential.

Preferred Experience:
Digital marketing, web content development, publicity experience, community engagement, experiential learning management, and/or corporate partnership development.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with best practices in community engagement, social impact, and nonprofit management; project management; knowledge of emerging media platforms; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with distinguished visitors, faculty, and students. Proven ability to create and implement a variety of activities, to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels. Strong presentation skills and creative command of relevant software.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $92,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
