Part-time (25 hours a week) driver/operator of company vehicle for delivery of residential packages, working independently with limited supervision. Ensures each individual package is accounted for through the company provided scanning equipment. Provides safe, courteous, and efficient delivery of packages, adhering to company policies, practices and procedures.
Essential Functions
Use company vehicle for daily package delivery to customer address as listed on packages
Determine, with manager, schedule to obtain packages and timing/special expectations on package instructions and delivery timing to customers
Package Handling: Load, scan with a company provided scanner, and unload packages using proper techniques to prevent damage and maintain security of the merchandise during transportation
Navigation and Routing: Use provided equipment with company's routing technology and route optimization tools to navigate efficiently, delivering packages according to the assigned route sequence
Safe Driving: Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment
Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including package delivery records, vehicle logs, and any other required reporting
Ensure that vehicle is regularly inspected and maintained
Professionally interact with customers, providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer inquiries or concerns are addressed promptly and accurately
Comply with all relevant safety policies and company policies and procedures
Accurately record daily milage driven in performance of job duties
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
High school diploma/GED required
Minimum Experience
Have at least one (1) year with of driving experience
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 21 years of age
Strong driving record and will require a motor vehicle background review
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds or over 30 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with others, follow work instructions, and recognize street numbers, addresses, highway signs and traffic control signals and devices
Strong verbal and written communication skills to both customers and FedEx team members
Knowledge and utilization of various navigation technology to ensure efficient routes for delivery
Ability to learn the proper use of scanning and other technical equipment needed for package delivery and tracking
Need to pass on-road training requirements and/or other required training
Time management and organization skills necessary to coordinate package delivery to customers within an efficient timeframe
Must maintain neat appearance to represent the company
Ability to satisfactorily complete required training framework
Working Conditions
May drive in various weather conditions to various customer sites for package delivery
Company's vehicle not regulated by section 391 of federal motor carrier safety regulations
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
Pay: $22.00/hr
Additional Details: Employees may utilize the company-provided vehicle for personal activities outside of work hours.
