A Day in the Life
Internal & External Communications
In partnership with the Global Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (GIDE) Communications Director, help create and execute strategic communications initiatives (including ID&E strategically aligned storytelling, overseeing the creation of the ID&E annual report and collaborating with Network/Employee Resource Groups on heritage months) that deliver on stated objectives (e.g., engaging meaningfully with employees already involved in Inclusion, Diversity & Equity work as well as broadening to appeal to those yet to become involved).
Ensure that all communications activities you are responsible for and created on behalf of GIDE are anchored in a strategic plan you create (including objectives, tactics and audiences, and informed by data) and aligns to broader organizational strategies (Global Communications & Corporate Marketing, ID&E communications and GIDE).
In partnership with other GIDE communications team members, create and implement employee communication campaigns designed to share proof points of GIDE work (such as amplifying external rankings and recognition) as well as broaden understanding of what ID&E is and who it is for. This includes creating and implementing communications plans including campaign messaging and communication tactics.
Serve as GIDE Communications point person on the team for strategically aligned ID&E storytelling (e.g., maintaining a repository of ID&E related stories and identifying ideal stories for amplification in annual ID&E report, heritage month observations, employee campaign, etc.).
Serve as GIDE Communications team lead for data including creating quarterly metrics reports and gathering insights from the data across GIDE Communications team tactics to ensure that efforts are meeting stated objectives.
Programmatic Communications Support
Serve as communications liaison and strategic advisor for GIDE team programmatic efforts (including GIDE awards, ID&E learning initiatives, self ID, etc.); duties to include participation in cross-functional team meetings, development of communications plans, alignment of that plan with key stakeholders and then tactical communications execution.
Serve as communications liaison for Diversity Networks and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) including delivering processes and tools to ensure consistent and coordinated communications across Diversity Networks to effectively contribute to ID&E objectives.
Collaborate with partners from GIDE, Networks/ERGs, executive communications, social media and internal communications to support strategic communications engagement around key ID&E moments/milestones throughout the year (e.g., International Women's Day, Black History Month, etc.).
Collaborate with communicators throughout Medtronic to support ID&E initiatives across internal and external channels (e.g., social media, intranet, .com presence, etc.).
Serve as project manager and driver (including suggesting theme, identifying key stories to highlight, interacting with internal subject matter experts, and generating alignment on overall approach) of annual report creation including helping to oversee vendors, content creation, reviews and internal/external promotions.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in communications (or 8+ years with an advanced degree)
Nice to Have:
Experience in Corporate communications
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, policy, English, or journalism
Master's degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a variety of functions and with all levels of management and employees
Resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in ambiguous situations
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications plans and tactics with measurable outcomes, using multiple channels, including digital/social media
End-to-end project management: Demonstrate comfort in both driving strategic communication initiatives and executing detailed plans, ensuring alignment throughout.
Analytical thinking: Exhibit the ability to connect the dots between various projects and provide comprehensive and actionable recommendations.
Influential collaboration: Demonstrate the ability to effectively influence and guide stakeholders towards common goals. Utilize strong interpersonal skills to build consensus, foster cooperation, and drive collective success in a collaborative environment.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,800.00 - $205,200.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
