Essential Functions

Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn
Assist in the daily operations of all classrooms as a substitute teacher ensuring rituals, routines and schedules are followed
Build and maintain professional relationships with peers, families, volunteers and community partners to encourage collaboration, reflection, family engagement, and high quality teaching practices
Complete teacher’s responsibilities in the absence of classroom staff
Assist with required documentation including, but not limited to: monthly reports, attendance, meal count, family contact logs and child injury reports as needed
Perform other duties as assigned or required to assist with maintaining high standards in the school
Work requires bending, stooping, lifting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, stretching, pushing and pulling throughout the day and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Knowledge and Skills
Broad knowledge and experience in:
Infant, toddler and preschool development
Adapting to constant change (classrooms, teachers, daily schedules and routines) while being positive, supportive and helpful
Following oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information
Accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines
Taking initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure

Minimum Qualifications
Must have high-school diploma or GED
Previous experience working in an accredited child care facility with children birth to five years of age

Classroom position with some local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards). Regular and reliable attendance required
