Job Description Summary
The shipping and receiving clerk position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Operates lift trucks to move or hoist materials to proper areas.
Loads trucks with lift trucks.
Operates PB crimp tools, including diagnosis, repair and processing.
Operates the stretch wrap banders.
Records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Weighs product for appropriate shipping costs.
Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of product.
Double checks shipping instructions on purchase order prior to placing product on truck.
Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
Required to use company vehicles.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The work environment is exposed to warm, cold and humid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities are required by this position that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
