What you will do:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and launching automotive products in compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standard. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and reliability of our automotive systems and components, and would act as the primary customer interface from the quote phase through development and launch. Additionally this role would act as the safety process owner for the Energy Systems business unit.
How you will do it:
Drive the development and implementation of functional safety concepts, safety analyzes, FuSa requirements and FuSa V&V for automotive products.
Focused on safety management (Safety Plan/DIA/Manage VRs/CRs/Assessments/etc.) as well as management of FuSa integration across Systems/HW/SW/Production.
Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain safety plans, safety cases, and safety verification and validation plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality assurance, to integrate safety requirements into product designs.
Provide guidance and training to team members on functional safety processes and best practices.
Participate in safety audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in functional safety and automotive technologies.
A key stakeholder in the functional safety steering committee.
What we look for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 standards and their application in automotive product development.
Proven experience in conducting safety analyses and developing safety documentation.
Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience leading cross-disciplinary functional leadership (without formal authority)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is a plus.
