Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a leading independent global professional services firm, specializing in providing turnaround management, performance improvement and advisory services, is seeking an Insurance Manager.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director in charge of insured risk management. This person will be based out of the Tampa Office and can work remotely at times but should maintain in-office visibility as well.

Responsibilities:


  • Insurance Program Management : Coordinate annual commercial property and liability insurance program renewals (global, foreign and domestic, including U.S. workers compensation in monopolistic States) and project-specific placements at the direction of the Director. This shall include process management; coordinating broker meetings, submissions and logistics; collecting/maintaining and assuring accurate binders/policies; reviewing, inputting, and approving premium invoices for payment; confirming premium invoice payments; collaborating with the Director on insurance budget and reporting.

  • Foreign-Local Insurance Management : Engage with foreign local offices on insurance compliance matters (assessing needs for local-admitted policies, promoting the global insurance program, and addressing their compliance needs). Work closely with the Broker to facilitate issuance of foreign local admitted policies under controlled master programs (and alternative solutions as may be required).

  • Insured Exposure Tracking & Submission Building : Coordinate with other departments (Finance, HR, Legal, Property Management, IT, Operations and regional leaders/managers) to develop, maintain and report underwriting data (including insurance applications) to broker.

  • Contract & General Technical Consulting : Provide insurance technical consulting to internal customers, including assessment of insurance procurement provisions in contracts and the extent to which A&M (or A&M counterparty) coverage is compliant with such provisions. Coordinate mid-term policy endorsements and special placements with brokers as may be required.

  • Certificate of Insurance Issuance : Facilitate delivery of "certificates of insurance" or other evidence as required by our RFPs, clients, lessors, lenders and vendors.

  • U.S. Workers Compensation Premium Audits : Work with Payroll, HR and the Director to coordinate employee and subcontractor's payroll data for auditor. Meeting with the Auditor may be required. Support Director in validation of premium audits.

  • Claims Management : Coordinate with Legal on all professional and employment practices claims (managed by Legal), and manage small claims associated with first-party property, auto and American Express Insurance Department.

Qualifications

  • Professional Background : 8+ years of experience in P&C insurance with an insurer, broker and/or insured's risk management department, including a deep understanding of all insurance coverage typically maintained by a global consulting firm.

  • Team skills : good communication skills and business acumen required; ability to take direction, be coached, and contribute to or own short- and long-term projects; and capacity to be a consistent contributor of positive energy to the team.

  • Analytical Skills : Good understanding of risk exposures, insurance and insurance policy contracts; initiative to research and find answers; ability to recognize, prioritize and report critical risk/coverage information.

  • Organizational & Project Management Skills : Strong organizational, multi-tasking, work planning, and time-management skills with attention to detail.

  • PC skills : Advanced MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills required.

Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours

Compensation Statement

The salary range is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
