ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY




SUMMARY : Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and the Program Director, the Assistant Coordinator will assist in providing administrative and operational support for all aspects of implementing the Pathways to STEM Program. The Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in conceptualizing, planning, implementing multiple program components, and will provide strategic information analysis. This position will also assist in maintaining compliance with policies and procedures related to Pathways, assist in planning and coordinating recruitment and student support activities in collaboration with the Pathways Director, and assist in ensuring all fiscal commitments associated with the grant are approved by the CPP Foundation in a timely manner.



SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):


  • Assist in the day-to-day implementation of the grant to ensure it is on track in achieving identified goals, milestones, and overall objectives.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with policies and procedures related to the National Science Foundation.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating recruitment and student support activities in collaboration with the Pathways PI and Director.

  • Assist in maintaining efficient and effective information systems with all project stakeholders.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating all meetings and events associated with the project.

  • Assist in acquiring and compiling various types of data from multiple sources.

  • Assist in acquiring, maintaining, and organizing student data related to the Annual Performance Report.

  • Provide support for the development of various marketing tools and research targeted audiences to develop appropriate techniques and ways in which to implement these.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Ability to use a computer; using MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

  • Must possess excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.

  • Understanding of, and experience with, diversity issues in the higher education community is necessary, and the ability to bring diverse groups together to implement change is desired.

  • This position requires a combination of strong administrative, research and interpersonal skills.

  • The following elements of skills and experience are desired: strong project management skills, and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels and with constituencies internal and external to the university.

  • Candidates for this position must demonstrate a high degree of initiative and be able to work independently to establish and accomplish priorities and to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously.
