Responsibilities
Delivery
Lead team(s) of data engineers through execution of backlog activities focused on building or migrating to cloud data platforms
Present team progress, milestones, dependencies and blockers to clients
Assist in work prioritization, sequencing and dependency management, backlog development and estimation
Perform code review activities to ensure code quality and best practice adherence
Provide expertise and leadership on one or more cloud platforms, guiding other consultants and clients on tool selection, best practices and use cases
Act as technical lead for solution being implemented, working with clients and other experts to refine and evolve solution
Perform POCs, work estimation and solution development as part of Discovery projects
Build architecture diagrams and presentations to align client stakeholders to solution
Solutioning Support
Provide subject matter expertise during solutioning of sales pursuits
Develop and enhance reusable solution materials
Build and maintain awareness of relevant Slalom accelerators and tools
Community
Serve as an internal expert on one or more data engineering technologies or subject areas
Grow practice expertise in these subject areas via mentoring, lunch and learns or other community gatherings
Grow our community, and serve as a mentor to other data engineers
Assist in interviewing screening and practice development activities
Technologies and experience
Core Data modeling, data warehouse and data lake approach, best practices, and experience
In-depth, hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Knowledge or experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
Familiarity with one or more ETL/ELT tool
Experience in one or more RDBMS and one or more analytical databases
Experience in NoSQL or Graph DBs
Strong SQL, Python and PySpark. Java and Scala are pluses
Demonstrated experience leading teams of developers
