Job Description
Responsible for all maintenance, custodial and grounds activities scheduled or arising on campus during the hours between the last working shift of the regular work week and the first working shift of the following week to include all FOD buildings (approximately 16M gross square feet); serves as the customer's single point of contact for facilities related work during the above referenced time frame. Focuses on immediate response to preventative maintenance and facility problems that arise. When required, provides direct supervision of maintenance personnel and coordination of custodial and grounds activities during weekend hours. Oversees and coordinates activities of contractors and university business partners. Responsible for customer service and other facilities management support functions. Meets regularly with Operations leaders and is responsible for ensuring that Operations is meeting or exceeding customer expectations. When required, will be responsible for training and supervising maintenance staff; works with others to provide planning, scheduling, and supervision; performs highly skilled duties; coordinates, directs, and assists contractors, vendors, and university personnel; performs other duties as assigned. Ensures environmental sustainability initiatives are integrated into all facilities operations. Reports to the Academic District Director.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.
Required Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience in building maintenance, custodial and/or grounds and operations, including direct customer contact (preferably in unionized setting) required, four (4) to eight (8) years preferred. Proven ability to work effectively with a moderate level of autonomy, use independent judgement, problem-solve with minimal guidance, and determine need for escalation. Basic understanding or the ability to develop a basic understanding of building automation systems and interfaces, Proven teaming, leadership and customer service skills and experience. Two (2) years of experience leading or supervising building maintenance, custodial and/or grounds teams. Valid Driver License required. In addition to the minimum qualifications, technical experience working as a maintenance mechanic, building operation trade worker, custodian or groundskeeper is strongly preferred.
Additional Information:Primary work schedule is three (3) 12-hour shifts, 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but must be available to work flexible shifts as determined by Operations leadership and team activities; takes part in after-hours/holiday on-call rotation; subject to 24-hour emergency call.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $69,400-$91,250 annually. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
