The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification in anesthesiology along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required. Fellowship training in neurocritical care and/or extensive experience in neurocritical care is strongly preferred.
Teaching responsibilities may include designing curriculum for residents on the neurocritical care rotation and may include the instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the intensive care units of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) as well as participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.
Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of neurocritical care and general anesthesia at HUP and PPMC.
Additional responsibilities will include leadership of the Division of Neurocritical Care across all three missions: Clinical, Education, and Research. This involves accountability for productivity in all three areas and for positively impacting growth in each domain. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit, support, and mentor faculty specializing in Neurocritical care within the division, including participation and collaboration to improve patient care, and collaboration with other leaders in the Department, Service Line, Hospital, VA and Health System to improve the division.
