The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing patient care, providing quality assurance, maintaining infection control, administering regulatory compliance and preserving fiscal stability. The Office of Clinical Operations is an integral part of the School and their primary mission is to provide the highest quality education and training to students and to provide the highest quality dental treatment available for patients.
The Dispensary Technician is responsible for utilizing good customer service techniques while providing materials to students, staff, and faculty at the Student Clinic Dispensaries within the Adams School of Dentistry. They are responsible for utilizing inventory tracking software and barcode systems to manage all stages of the inventory process for all materials within the dispensaries. The dispensary technicians will be responsible for managing inventory, utilizing reporting, and communicating with members of their team about any inventory concerns they may have. It is vital that the dispensary technicians are flexible and willing to work as a team to create solutions for every opportunity that is encountered at the Student Clinic Dispensaries. The Dispensary Technician will provide occasional cross-coverage in other Clinical Operations areas.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with people of all levels and backgrounds. Ability to maintain flexibility and professional attitude while providing customer service in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage and verify files, records, and inventory. Ability to use electronic technology (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer applications) to manage inventory of all materials.
Experience or background in a professional dental setting.
Experience providing customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to maneuver supply carts weighing up to 200lbs. Must be able to lift/move up to 35lbs. Must be able sit and stand for long periods of time. With or without reasonable accommodation.
