The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The Budget Analyst serves as a subject matter expert with the Finance team of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. In this capacity, the position incumbent will provide complex financial analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, metrics, reporting, and budgeting for the School, which includes budgeting and reporting for $100M of a variety of fund types including state appropriations, F&A or overhead receipts, institutional trust funds, grants, discretionary funds, endowments, and recharge operations. The position conducts audits to ensure compliance and consistent best practices, provides high-level consultation, creates and presents school-wide training to managers and faculty members.
Mid-career with Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and direct work of the team
Ability to communicate effectively with excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to use Microsoft 365, including advanced Excel skills
Ability to function independently, while also working in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to think strategically, identify and solve problems
A desire to learn and a commitment to excellence
Ability to prepare budget/financial reports
Minimum of 4 years budget/financial modeling and reporting experience, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit environment. Previous experience with higher education financial systems and/or Tableau.
