The University of North Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting a tenure track or variable track Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine to provide inpatient and outpatient obstetrics care to patients and collaborate with departmental and healthcare system leaders, clinicians, and administrators to develop and implement initiatives to enhance quality, safety and community engagement. Responsibilities will also include education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in the division's research mission.
The division's clinical programs include high-risk obstetric care, perinatal consultation, prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound, genetic services, invasive fetal therapy, and perinatal outreach. Division faculty members are engaged participants in the activities of UNC's Collaborative for Maternal and Infant Health (www.mombaby.org), which provides multidisciplinary care coordination for families referred for fetal malformations. Division members actively participate in student and resident teaching and provide subspecialty training for six Maternal Fetal Medicine fellows through its 3-year American Board of Obstetrics & Genecology (ABOG) approved fellowship program. Some night, weekend and holiday inpatient work is expected, in rotation with other division members.
MD or DO degree, completed a 4-year ACGME approved OB-GYN residency and completed a 3-year ACGME or ABOG approved fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Board Certified/Board Eligible/Active Candidate in both OB-GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Competence in maternal medicine and prenatal diagnosis, and a commitment to excellence in medical education. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
