Director duties include leading multiple Department of Biomedical Informatics research teams and operational of research programs, provide high level management of all aspects of major grant funded projects, including determining deliverables, managing workflow and employees (a minimum of two (2) direct report employees) associated with the projects; oversight and development of working relationships with internal and external providers. Develop strategic plans for research operations. The Director will report directly to the Chair and the lead PI’s for the projects.
Additionally, the Director will be responsible for managing research budgets and expenses, as well as coordinating/approving budgets for new department projects/proposals; lead data quality control efforts; coordination of progress report preparation, as well as coordinating communications between all involved entities; ensure compliance with regulatory standards, brings in fresh perspectives, and leverages external expertise.
Leads a team and directs & oversees all operational aspects of the research program. Establishes and drives the vision, policies, fiscal functions, administration, and strategic plan of a research program to support the delivery of high-quality research services and ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards and requirements. Formulates budgets and performs associated financial duties. Collaborates with and advises internal and external stakeholders and ensures adherence to regulations. Translates strategic plans into research operational plans oversees administrative matters.
Develops, implements, and directs research operations in administrative, budgetary/fiscal, policies, and strategic matters, including preparing analysis, managing administrative functions, directing education and outreach marketing, developing appropriate partnerships with key stakeholders, developing policies and procedures, and overseeing translational research/training programs.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
