The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.
Job Description
Key Job Functions
Maintain Pleasant personality and demeanor throughout the function
Provide food service for banquet events in accordance with Hotel & Banquet standards
Setup action stations, Cook (ie: simmer, brown, sauté, Serve patrons at action stations in accordance with head chef plate presentation and garnishes
Setup banquet buffet displays both hot, and cold in allotted time
Maintain food levels at those displays
Engage guest(s) at banquets events in order to determine food allergies, preferences, and dietary needs. Report those needs and preferences to the proper Banquet captain(s)
Proper coffee brewing and tea brewing techniques are expected of all banquet staff
Server must be familiar with seating positions for plated events as well as proper serving techniques for proper food placement at guest tables during that synchronized service
Completes all daily side duties, post function clean up, organization, and deep cleaning of affected work areas
Report to all necessary pre shift, and post shift meetings with banquet leadership
Report to banquet leadership for inspection of completed work responsibilities before leaving the hotel property
Store all banquet & hotel equipment used in an orderly and clean fashion in accordance with banquet captain, banquet assistant manager, banquet manager, and banquet director's instruction

Qualifications and Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
Strong communication skills
Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
Must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, occasional split shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
Understanding of basic room diagrams for station setups and seating charts for guests'
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group environments to customers, clients, and or employees of organizations that we serve.
1 year prior food service experience required, preferably in Banquets.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Louisiana State Alcohol Servers Permit required
