ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

We offer paid, full-time summer internships for many majors, with fulfilling work and opportunities to grow. To help launch your career, we provide dedicated staff mentors. You’ll also learn from senior leaders and industry experts. As part of the Federal Reserve System, you’ll be connected to a professional network that spans the nation. You will begin in early June and will be based in the Dallas office.

ABOUT YOUR TEAM:

The Strategic Risk Management (SRM) team consists of two main functions – Internal Controls and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Internal Controls performs quarterly testing on controls that have a direct impact to our financial statements to ensure they are free from any material misstatement. Enterprise Risk Management aids in effectively managing risks to our mission critical operations which includes collaborating with business areas to identify, assess, monitor, and report on organizational risk as well as serve in an advisory capacity to senior leaders and the Bank’s Risk Management Committee (RMC).

The Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for coordinating the annual Investment Review Committee (IRC) Submission Cycle, captures monthly reporting on all ongoing IRC projects, and hosts quarterly update meetings for agile projects post-release. The team collaborates with a variety of stakeholders all across the District to ensure a successful submission cycle and accurate project status reporting.

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team oversees the Eleventh District's operational budget, coordinates the Bank's monthly financial forecast, prepares the annual financial plan, and ensures compliance with the Federal Reserve System's Planning and Control System (PACS), the fundamental expense accounting and budgeting system for all Reserve Banks. To accomplish this, the team partners with each business area in the District to improve the overall budget and forecasting performance while ensuring alignment with local and System strategies and compliance with cost accounting policies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:


  • Gain knowledge and basic understanding of above-mentioned teams and their general processes

  • Support the Internal Controls team by performing controls testing of various business areas

  • Support the ERM team by researching topics in preparation of RMC or other advisory group meetings

  • Support the PMO team by effective note-taking and researching into projects as necessary

  • Support the FP&A team with a project or task related to budget or cost accounting

  • Support teams in creating or updating materials and documentation and recommending improvements as requested

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • Junior or Senior student majoring in Accounting, Finance, Risk, Business or related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements

WORK HOURS:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/ week). Some additional hours may be required
