Vault Clerk 

Department: Cash Services 

Classification: Key 

Exemption Status: Non-exempt 

Reports To: Vault Supervisor 

Pay Grade: TBD 

Location:  All GLC Properties 

Position Summary — The Vault Clerk is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all Casino funds that are acquired and held on property. 

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 


  • Responsible for all money and chips on hand in the vault issued to authorized staff. 


  • Prepares and verifies banks issued to authorized staf when necessary. 


  • Performs regular maintenance on all cash services equipment including ATMs, Recycler, and Currency Counters.  


  • Ensures all Kiosk ATMs and Recycler are filled and ready for use at all times  


  • Issues chips to authorized staff when fills are requested for the table games. 


  • Completes and transfers appropriate documentation to the Accounting Department. 


  • Counts down and verifies banks at the close of shifts when necessary. 


  • Counts and verifies employee tips at close of shifts.  


  • Responsible for verifying all money and chips at the beginning and end of the money room vault clerk’s shift. 


  • Counts and verifies pull money from the floor machines and the table games. 


  • Enters count for each bag or box using the cash management program.  


  • Verifies total pull cash vs. actual cash on hand from drop. 


  • Batch drops money. 


  • Orders and verifies deposits and exchanges from Loomis. 


  • Keeps work area clean and supplies stocked. 


  • Responsible for following Title 31 reporting requirements. 

Qualifications   


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. with cash handling and customer service experience required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  


  • Ability to multitask and work as part of the team. 


  • Ability to communicate clearly’ ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and oral instructions.  


  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and Team Members. 


  • Ability to count back change accurately and efficiently. 


  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite; particularly: Excel, and Adobe. 

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Physical Requirements — Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time; stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 35 pounds regularly; have good dexterity and grip. 

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights. 

Special Working Conditions — This position requires the flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work under pressure.
