Basic Job Functions:



The Melt Shop Crane Operator is responsible for safe and efficient operation of the crane. Safe operation is evidenced by completing thorough and timely inspections of the crane and working areas. Deliberate and conscientious operation and decision making are also required to be a safe operator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to dropping charges in the EAF, adding electrodes, moving molten steel through the melt shop, flying up needed supplies and assisting maintenance when needed. A successful teammate will have good communication with the entire team. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn continually and proactive approach to safety and housekeeping are necessary. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Requirements:



2 years of overhead crane experience
