Job Mode: This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site work >50% but also providing remote work focus time on a weekly basis as desired


Opportunity


A Sustaining Product Development (SPD) Project Engineer is a technical problem solver, who identifies and executes design activities for current Rehlko industrial generators. If you are the type of engineer who likes to get into the details of a design while contributing with line-of-sight to business goals, this position is for you. This role will be working in highly cross-functional teams, you will design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems that support business and sourcing strategies, meet cost and warranty targets, or resolve design issues for customers and manufacturing.

The Details


  • Handles responsibilities and performs projects and tasks for technical assignments of moderate scope and complexity under general direction of the SPD Manager and Platform Leader

  • Assures functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing

  • Documents specifications and achieves product technical, customer, and regulatory requirements

  • Executes design projects to support cost reduction targets through VAVE and sourcing strategy implementation.

  • Executes design projects to support manufacturing strategy, including reducing downtime and improving assembly throughput.

  • Provides ongoing design support of existing product via: resolving design issues for customers and manufacturing, supporting supply chain issues and proposed component changes, supporting ongoing product/component codes & standards compliance and
    supporting reliability improvements to meet warranty targets

  • Provides technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts and other less experienced Engineers

Skills/Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution
    2 to 4 years experience working as an engineer.

  • Engineers who historically performed well in this role have product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering backgrounds.

  • Engineers who have historically performed well in this role like solving a wide variety of problems and desire a mix between conceptual design and hands-on activities.

  • Passion for execution is essential!

  • Reliable self-starter with ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively is essential

The salary range for this position is $83300 - $105200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
