Core Purpose:
The Continuous Improvement Co-Op will work alongside CI and Operation professionals to support projects with low cost and risk for a single site/location for the AMH Division. The intent of the Continuous Improvement Engineer Co-Op role is to allow individuals to be exposed to the technical and management aspects of engineering and continuous improvement, while beginning to develop an interest for longer term career aspirations. They will support the daily management tiered meeting structure, participating in structured problem solving. They will also support the completion of Kaizen events to drive improvements across operations with respect to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
In this role, you will:
- Gain an understanding of the plant, process, and equipment by working with a diverse group of functional areas on such projects as: efficiency issues and waste reduction.
- Work with a diverse group of cross-functional areas such as safety, maintenance, process engineering, and operations.
- Communicate with people diverse in language ability, educational levels, and experience.
- Implement 5S initiatives in a specified area in CHS operation floor
- Support and enhance problem solving at the daily Tier 1 Meetings
You're a good fit if you have:
- Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles.
- Strong time management skills.
- Flexibility and accountability to support needs of operations.
- Professional and positive communication skills and ability to work well in group settings.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams is a plus.
Desired Major & Graduation Date:
- Currently working towards a degree in a relevant engineering program (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing).
- Bachelor's/master's degree to be completed between December 2025 - May 2027

- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
