Consumer Monetization team's charter is to Find, Evaluate, Build, and Scale new monetization, subscription and internal campaign tools and products, ad formats and functionalities across all Yahoo brands including Yahoo Homepage, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News and AOL. This team is uniquely positioned to identify growth and revenue generation opportunities, design and implement solutions across consumer products and advertising platforms including video, display, native, and search.

A Lot about You
As part of the Consumer Monetization Platform Engineering team, you will work directly on an array of product features, advertiser publishing tools, and insights and reporting functionalities. You will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to ideate, develop, and own complex technical solutions on our fast-paced podcast and ad services technology platforms.

Your Day


  • Collaborate with key internal partners to determine how to scalably design backend systems and APIs

  • Develop, and operate Go and Java services deployed to a billion users.

  • Work with data engineers to build and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks like Scio, Storm, Spark and the Google Cloud Platform.

  • Design, Develop and Deploy large scale software systems, platforms, infrastructure on public cloud at scale

  • Participate in our on-call rotation and lead the incident reviews

  • Be an active technical member and valued contributor in an autonomous, cross-functional agile team

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, and designers to identify and solve challenging problems.

  • Participate in a culture of learning through design discussions and code reviews

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in computer science or related field; equivalent combination of experience

  • Strong fundamentals: algorithms, distributed computing, data structure, database

  • Hands on Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation.

  • Have recent experience with Go, Java, or other OO programming languages with a solid understanding of OO design principles, concurrency, multi-threading, performance tuning, and observability.

  • Experience in participating as an effective collaborator in architecting, building, and operating distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance in a team setting.

  • Have the ability to proactively describe complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders through written and/or verbal communication.

  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, tools and technologies (e.g. CI/CD, Terraform, Containerization)

  • Self-driven, challenge-loving, detail oriented, teamwork spirit, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and manage expectations


Nice to have:

  • Experience with Prebid, Headerbidding, Google Ad Manager a big plus

  • Experience with Open Real Time Bidding (ORTB) protocol, Auction Mechanics, Bidders and Pacers a big plus

  • Has familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations around the world

  • Curious about a broad range of new or unfamiliar technologies, the consumer base, and product vision.

  • Seek different perspectives, feedback, and relevant information to continuously grow and improve.

  • Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams through clear communication.

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
