Purpose of Position
The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering invites applications for an Associate Teaching Professor, beginning in Fall 2024.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching petroleum and energy engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, depending on qualifications.
Participation in recruiting and outreach activities.
Some administrative duties that may include management of the department's graduate program and grants
Other duties as needed by the department.
Required Competencies
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students
Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students
Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department and the College of Engineering and Mines
Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching, including online delivery
Ability to engage industry partners and connect course content to the practice of engineering in the field
Minimum Requirements
A Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
Five years of experience working in an engineering role in the energy industry.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
Ten years of experience working in an engineering role in the energy industry.
