Grants & Contracts Management Specialist to manage pre- and post-award activities for assigned investigators.
Duties Include:
Reads and interprets sponsor guidelines
Reviews contract terms and conditions from sponsor
Provides fiscal management of research grants
Reconciles project expenses to budgets and sends financial summaries to PIs
Monitors project budgets and reviews expenditures for approval
Monitors and oversees personnel appointments on projects
Initiates subcontracts and consultant agreements
Provides forecasting for assigned research portfolios
Initiates journal and personnel transfers
Monitors and notifies principal investigators of funding opportunities
Creates, develops and analyzes budgets for inclusion with proposals
Works with subcontractor and/or vendors for budget and document preparation
Determines award and expenditure allocations
Provides review and editing of documents to ensure sponsor compliance
Assists with preparation and submission of research progress reports
Assists PIs with effort certification and PET approval
Assists with close-out of projects
Maintains currency of regulatory changes and laws that impact the developments of grants and contracts
Reviews and interprets compliance issues involving risk management (hazardous materials) or human or animal subjects, conflict of interest, or export control issues
Attends state or regional conferences.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors level degree in related field (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Health Administration) required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro desired.
Requires successful completion of a background check, qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
