Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Sport Programs, Intramurals serves as a valued member of the Recreational Services team, working primarily to advance Intramural Sport opportunities for the University of Iowa campus. The Intramural Sports program consists of 35 unique activities offered over 60 times each year, averaging over 5,000 unique participants and 32,000 individual participations annually.
Responsibilities will include program development and implementation, special event programming, calendar development, sport scheduling, and revenue generation. The Assistant Director is responsible for budget development and management, policy creation and enforcement, participant conduct oversight, and the development and delivery of participant education trainings. The Assistant Director is responsible for daily administration, supervision, and management of the Intramural Sports Program, with an emphasis on student staff development and interpersonal growth for program participants.
The Assistant Director is responsible for recruitment, selection, direct supervision, and evaluation of the full-time Sport Programs Coordinator and serves as the primary backup for the coordinator. The Assistant Director also oversees the recruitment, selection, and supervision of 12 student Sport Program Supervisors and up to 70 student Intramural Officials.
