Responsible for leading, anticipating, reporting, and managing customer demand for all products within the Consumer Products Division for Sales, Operations Planning, and financial forecasting. Uses SAP-APO and supervises the Consumer Products Division (CPD) Demand Planning team to lead the development and reporting of the Demand Planning forecast/latest estimate. Interacts with the CPD Sales, Trade, Finance, Operations, Logistics, and Marketing to facilitate the planning process (short, medium and long term). *What You Do.*
* Oversees the creation of accurate monthly demand plans across the CPD portfolio by utilizing drivers of volume, historical data, and sales projections from cross-functional partners
* Provides guidance and recommendations to continuously improve the CPD Demand Planning function and forecast accuracy
* Collaborates on the Price Commodity Management (PCM) team and quantifies the volume impact of PCM decisions
* Develops the division volumetric operating plan by documenting the drivers of volume including new items across all time horizons
* Provides subject matter expertise in syndicated data (IRI) to analyze price & promotion trends as well as changes in distribution to anticipate demand triggers and evaluate implications to the latest estimate
* Provides subject matter expertise for Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for S&OP and APO; identifies and trouble shoots IBP system errors; trains team members and acts as Super User for testing
* Collaborates with Analytical Insights to lead the utilization and maintenance of BDA forecasting tools
* Oversees development of distribution & volume forecasts for Innovation items and/or new markets, working with New Product Development and Marketing Managers, as well as CPD Demand Planning Manager as needed
* Leads the allocation process in times of constrained demand
* Acts as the day-to-day point of contact between Logistics and CPD in the reconciliation of demand vs. supply conflicts. Works closely with the CPD Sales leadership to achieve the optimal balance of customer responsiveness and production stability
* Oversees the tracking (three-year rolling) and reporting of new item distribution versus plan and budget
* Leads the reporting and tracking of volume versus budget in the Consumer Products Division
* Provides critical training, resources, delegation, and direction to ensure a high performing and capable team in this function.
* Leads the annual customer planning process, including volume goal development for Annual Business Plans and progress reporting for Mid-Year Updates
* Subject matter expert; provide necessary training to internal personnel in all aspects of Demand Planning, forecasting, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manages two to four employees. This person leads and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Demand Planning Group in the Consumer Products Division. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and overall direction and supervision.
*Your Education and Experience.*
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree preferred.
* Minimum of seven years related experience at a professional level required.
* Previous experience in CPG sales or marketing strongly preferred.
