Maintain production facility and equipment, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees, to insure safe and quality products by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment; and providing support to equipment such as HV/AC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration system, blenders, processing and packaging equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment and completing preventive maintenance requirements
Controls downtime by ascertaining needed repairs and parts replacement, and completing repairs in timely fashion
Fabricates repair parts by machining items to specification as necessary
Provides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levels
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent
Stationary Engineer's License; City of Chicago Stat. Eng. License highly preferred
Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
Bilingual preferred
Minimum three to five years related maintenance experience
Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, and PLCs
Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
Valid state driver's license
Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis
Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
Able to occasionally climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipment
