Under the general direction of the Manager of Field Service and Water Conservation, the Temporary AMI Field Service Administrator oversees the installation of the AMI meters, endpoints, meter box lids, base stations, or other AMI related infrastructure completed by San Jose Water (SJW) staff or outside contractors. This position will work directly with the Superintendent of Field Customer Service, the Superintendent of Meter Shop, AMI Program Manager, SJW's Chief Engineer and leads from outside contractors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be the primary contact person at SJW for interactions with contract installers or other contractors hired to implement AMI.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience in directing the work
of contractors.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of principles and practices of effective management of contractors and projects, including short- and long-term planning, project planning and monitoring, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of working outside to handle field work in addition to office duties.
