Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept | Facilities and Property Management (FPM) comprises approximately 80 full time and 60 student employees who work together to maintain over 5 million square feet in downtown Portland, and this team is a key element in the department. Position Summary | Would you like to apply and expand your plumbing skills without the hassle of loading all your tools into your truck and traveling to multiple job sites? PSU’s Facilities and Property Management department (FPM) is seeking a licensed Plumber to provide journey-level installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial plumbing systems across the campus. The Plumber collaborates with a small team on both preventative and reactive maintenance; new installation projects; and work on a variety of plumbing systems and components including domestic water systems, heating and cooling water systems, waste and vent lines, valves and restroom fixtures.. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people. They will demonstrate their knowledge of industry best practices while working safely, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor. This is a permanent full-time position within an innovative team-oriented environment located in downtown Portland, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with at least 38 days of paid time off each year, 95% employer-funded premium healthcare, 100% employer-funded retirement plans, and 70% off of tuition for the employee, dependent children, and your spouse or domestic partner. This position is represented by SEIU 89. Minimum Qualifications from Classification | - A valid Oregon Plumber’s license; AND - One of the following: * One year of experience as a journey-level plumber; OR * Completion of an approved apprenticeship program. |

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | The starting hourly salary rate for this position is between $28.25 and $39.40 plus a monthly recruitment and retention bonus equal to 10% of the base salary which equates to $31.08 to $43.34 per hour. The starting salary will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. Portland State has an excellent benefits package including 95% employer-paid health insurance premiums (employees and eligible dependents) and significantly reduced tuition rates for employees and eligible dependents at any of the Oregon Public Universities. After completing six full months employees are eligible to choose the employer-paid pension programs in addition to two voluntary retirement programs.
