The Project Engineer will design full turnkey projects, from initial design to completion of engineering deliverables. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, photometric analysis work in AGi32 based on scope of work and supplied data from the customer/sales representative, as well as proposal generation in MS Excel and part number specification. The position will have the ability to work cross-functionally throughout the organization, as well as the ability to interface with external partners and departments to promote Orion and assist with project engineering related activities.

Project Engineer will be responsible for specifying parts, performing energy calculations, and managing the process of completing engineering proposals, including labor and shipping quotations and reviews by various departments.
Project Engineer must maintain a working knowledge of Orion products.
Develop Engineered Drawings using AutoCAD or DraftSight.
Project Engineer will provide drawings for analysis, as-built, permitting, and construction use.
Project Engineer will use AutoCAD or DraftSight to perform work with customer-supplied drawings. Drawings must be reviewed for accuracy and completeness before being used in photometric design and analysis.
Assist project management, engineering, and other internal departments with technical projects, including:
Proposal completion, including new and revised drafts.
Perform photometric analysis/AGi32 layouts
Research and train on product fixtures; learn part number schemes
Gather spec sheets and information for current and future projects
Complete the CAD request/Electrical drawings, verifying their accuracy and completeness.
Use specialized software to retrieve information from computer files and display it on the screen.
Perform audit completion with Construction Services.
Ensure goals and objectives of each project are accomplished within prescribed processes, timeframes, quality levels, and costs
Meet defined standards of design, engineering quality, and customer satisfaction.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent years of education and/or experience
Strongly prefer minimum of two (2) or more years of electrical and/or lighting engineering experience in a similar role
AutoCAD or similar drafting program knowledge is required
AGi32 or similar photometric analysis software preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
High attention to detail and strong written communication in a business environment
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; effective multi-tasker.
