Description:
Aquila's full-time Human Performance Specialist assists in overseeing fitness center programs, assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. The location for this position is in Charlottesville, VA.
The pay for this postion is $58,000 annually with a 40 hours work week, plus company benefits. There may be some weekend hours. Work shifts are usually 8 or 10 hours.

Responsibilities include:
Act as liaison on-site with Aquila's client contact
Make recommendations and assist in the formulation of fitness center policies and plans
Supervise and monitor exercise participants, perform exercise assessments, and exercise prescription
Teach group fitness movement classes
Conduct personal fitness training sessions with members of fitness center
Assist with selection and supervision of group fitness instructors when needed
Prepare reports as needed regarding the fitness center operations
Supervise exercise areas
Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
Aid members - spotting and equipment usage & explain all equipment
Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
Adhere to client's policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings
Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion or closely related area OR Active NCCA accredited National Fitness Certification - (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT or AFAA)
Active Nutrition certification (can be obtained within 90 days of hire)
Active CPR/BLS certification
Active accredited fitness certification (can be obtained within 90 days of hire. Aquila will cover up to $500 of the cost of certification)
1 or more years fitness experience
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
