We are looking for a FSQA Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The FSQA Technician is critical to the food safety of the products being delivered to our customers. The Tech will primarily be checking and verifying products at all stages of production. In addition, they will be responsible for analysis of product for food safety and food quality.
Salary: $22.50/hour plus .50 shift differential
Start time: 4am or 5pm depending on shift
Shift: 10 hour shifts
Days: 4 days

Responsibilities
Maintain Food Safety Program:
Participate in and report on pre-operational, operational, and facility assessment audits.
Carry out line checks and all verification processes.
Verify all critical control points, preventive controls, and control points for all processes in accordance with plant HACCP and GMP programs.
Assist in the monitoring of raw material and finished product specifications; maintain and report raw material and finished goods “HOLD” tag logs.
Carry out microbiological and chemical analytical tests on finished goods, environmental and other contact surfaces.
Prepare pre-shipment approval paperwork.
Complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
Review and modify the HACCP and SSOP programs along with other necessary paperwork.
Prepare taste tests for finished goods for sensory evaluation and conduct product consistency evaluations
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Perform projects at the instruction of the FSQA Supervisor or FSQA Manager.
Perform training of employees.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Maintain Lab and Inventory:
Track materials to maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
Maintain lab equipment and production equipment stored in the lab; arrange for the repair and calibration of any defective equipment.
Maintain the daily operations of the lab
Update lab SOPs as needed.
Maintain ISO databases.
Maintain accurate laboratory records for all product, environmental, and other types of testing conducted.
Qualifications
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be able to use a computer to perform reporting and record-keeping tasks as well as create reports, presentations, and charts as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in employee training and support; attention to detail; familiarity with computers.
