Overview
Summer internship in preclinical biologics research with a focus in protein engineering and molecular biology.
Responsibilities
Overview We are seeking a highly motivated individual for an internship position in preclinical biologics drug development. The candidate will work within small interdisciplinary team conducting molecular biology and protein engineering experiments towards progressing the development of preclinical drug candidates. Responsibilities
Conduct experiments and analyze data under the direction of a supervising scientist.
Cloning and sequencing of expression vectors.
Expression and purification of recombinant proteins.
Characterization of biomolecules utilizing analytical methods and biological assays.
Qualifications
A strong interest in biopharmaceutical research and development.
Current pursuit of a doctoral or masters degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
A high level understanding of molecular and cellular biology techniques.
Hands-on experience working in a research laboratory is highly desired.
The ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office suite programs.
Must successfully exhibit Insmed's five (5) corporate values: Collaboration, Accountability, Passion, Integrity & Respect; along with any other position specific competencies.
I ndividuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.
Experience with characterizing protein-protein interactions and/or Fc engineering is preferred but not necessary.
Salary Range
$23 - $24 an hour
Compensation & Benefits
Eligible for paid company holidays during the intern program.
