A role you will love
As the Java Developer, you will work within an Agile environment to develop and support internal applications. Partnering with the business product owner, you will require strong technical skills, curiosity, a passion for delivering quality solutions and the drive to continually improve the quality and speed with which we deliver value to the business.
In this role, you will design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices. You will be part of delivery through the whole software development life cycle, including design, coding, automation testing, functional testing, and post deployment support.
Other Key Responsibilities Include:
Applying knowledge of standards, policies, best practice and organizational structure so that you can work both independently and collaboratively within your team and with key stakeholders
Providing support with the software development life cycle, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support for the CCT Application
Program design, deployment, and ongoing Test Automation support
Participate in informal guidance and sharing knowledge with colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team's objectives
Ensuring the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team - through the quality of your own work and the support you provide to others - to ensure that your team delivers high-quality, maintainable software which adheres to internal standards and policies
Supporting the evaluation and resolution of technical challenges and blockers to minimize their impact on the teams' delivery and/or supported products
Identifying and supporting improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience
Communicating effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback
What will you bring to the role?
2+ years' experience in working web application development using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC, Restful API, JSON/XML and JQuery, NPM, Ajax and/or HTML 5
1+ years' experience with any of the following UI technologies: React or Angular JS
2+ years' experience in any of the following middleware and Cloud platforms: Tomcat, Weblogic, Redhat OpenShift, Azure
Experience in web service development in any of the technologies: Rest API development, JSON, SOAP
Experience in working with SDLC tools such as Git, SVN, CI/CD tools, Azure DevOps, Maven, Gradle and any code quality tools
Strong working experience of database development with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle or SQL Server including object development, performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience with version control or source code repositories: Jenkins, GitHub or Artifactory
Knowledge and understanding of technology object-oriented design patterns and their application
Bonus points if you have:
Experience with defensive programming including knowledge of basic security exploits including Cross site Scripting, SQL injection, and Secure Web Headers
Experience in using agile development tools such as JIRA, ADO Boards and Confluence
Knowledge and understanding of Selenium software testing framework
Secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience
Skilled in JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, EXT JS, Kendo UI or Angular JS)
MVC (Model-View-Controller) Framework experience
Experience with Agile project methodologies, SAFe agile a plus
Experience with LeanIX

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $95,000 - $115,000 USD. This base pay is specific to Maryland and may not be applicable to all locations. This range reflects our good faith effort to pay fairly based on our job evaluation of this role and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
