Salary Range: $86000 - $141800 Salary

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At One Call, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86000 - $141800 Salary

JOB SUMMARY:


Responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of voice, data, and/or network communications systems. Monitors communications performance using diagnostic equipment, visual checking, and status indicator methods to locate problems. Interfaces with vendors on new technology and system updates.


Telecommunications Engineer Senior
Advanced professional role requiring extensive skill and proficiency. Works independently with only administrative supervision on highly complex projects with extensive latitude for independent judgment. Designs systems and solutions for customer business requirements or cost reductions. Writes business cases, project plans, and technical and customer documentation. Expected to mentor others on staff and is a role model for rest of team. Effectively communicates with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel. Ability to provide communication on issues or complex information to a wide audience based on knowledge. Participates in strategic planning and direction. Develops, documents and implements standards, guidelines, direction and education on process/procedures for staff. Assigned to highly visible, sensitive and critical systems. Typically requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years programming experience in a telecommunications environment.


GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:






    • Handles customer requests for telecommunications support including moves, adds, changes, repairs and inquiries.

    • Troubleshoots major telecommunications issues.


    • Identifies and manages telecommunications projects.


    • Provides design and software support all telecommunication systems.


    • Responsible for design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based telecommunications systems and various related technologies


    • Provides design and support for all aspects of the Contact Centers using multichannel communications (voice, email, SMS, chat), IVR, workforce management and other associated solutions.


    • Manages vendor activities and verifies expenses relating to day-to-day support requirements.


    • Participates on project teams for larger telecommunications project initiatives and periodically takes a lead project role.


    • Defines and updates departmental telecommunications documentation and databases.


    • Audits telecommunications expenses and may recommend expense reduction initiatives.


    • Provides customer liaison role for day-to-day support activities and/or critical telecommunications functions.


    • Proposes technical network and equipment system solutions for customer business requirements or cost reductions.


    • Writes business correspondence for recommendations, project support, and customer service purposes.


    • Conducts customer meetings and one-on-one presentations regarding applicable communications systems.


    • Performs other related duties as assigned.





EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.


GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:






    • Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

    • Requires good working knowledge of telecommunications industry as well as voice system design and engineering.


    • Ability to understand and apply technical concepts.


    • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.


    • Basic understanding of infrastructure wiring/connectivity


    • Requires documentation and telecommunications software administration skills.


    • Skill in troubleshooting/diagnostic tools and software installation and maintenance


    • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally.


    • Flexibility, versatility, dependability
